OPERA 10 Unite
We download and test the latest browser from OPERA
Opera 10 Unite
I have just had look into the new browser from OPERA. Unite is aimed at making the Internet a more instinctive and collaborative tool and bringing people closer together.
OPERA has enabled easy file sharing between your web devices, be it at home, work or mobile and all without the need to host your files on a server somewhere else. OPERA does it all from the desktop.
This new method allows you to link to your home music, photos and even those file you happened to be working on last night, but failed to save to your USB drive to bring to work. (So many times)
Together with a raft of the usual widgets you can download, OPERA has included e couple of great chat tools, the Fridge which is a bit gimicky lets you leave messages for others to see on there own fridge, providing they have access to yours.
Then there is the chat forum which any person can host, prior to allowing selected individuals to join, it could be great for small scale conferencing and internal messaging.
So how will OPERA's new browser fair in the already competitive market. Well in my opinion it is a great peice of kit and one that any web developer / designer should not be without, even if it is for just testing purposes.
Check it out here, unite.opera.com and if you have any thoughts, come back and leave a comment.
